Privacy Policy

This page explains what Ashkeeper ("we," "us") collects through ashkeeper.app and the beta desktop app, why, and what you can do about it. Ashkeeper is currently a private beta project, not a company with a large legal team — this policy is written in plain language for that reason, but it's meant to hold up: if something here changes, we'll update the date above.

What we collect

• Your email address — when you join the waitlist, or when you're added as a beta tester.
• Account role and login activity — for beta testers, whether your account is a Tester or Admin, and the last time you signed in.
• Bug reports you submit — the type, description, and any steps to reproduce you write in, plus the email of the account that submitted it.
• Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs basic request data (like IP address and browser type) for every website on the internet it serves, the same way any web host does. We don't use this for tracking or profiling — it's operational, not analytics.

We do not run ad trackers or third-party analytics scripts, and we don't collect payment information — the beta is free.

How we use it

• To run the waitlist and beta program — letting you know when a seat opens, and sending your access code if you're invited in.
• To send account-related email — access codes, password resets, and replies about bug reports you've filed.
• To occasionally send announcement emails about the project — new builds, roadmap updates. You can unsubscribe from these specifically at any time (link in every one), without affecting your ability to log in or receive account email.
• To triage and fix bugs, using what you report.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data to anyone. A few services process it on our behalf, strictly to run the site and app:

• Notion — stores the waitlist, beta tester accounts, and bug reports.
• Resend — delivers the emails we send (access codes, password resets, announcements).
• Cloudflare — hosts the site, and stores the actual desktop app build files you download.

About beta access codes

If you're a beta tester, your account uses a randomly generated access code instead of a password you choose. These codes are stored as plain text in our records (not hashed) — by design, they're meant as disposable, single-use invite codes rather than reused account passwords. You can request a new one at any time, and doing so immediately invalidates the old one. Please don't reuse a password from another account as your Ashkeeper login, and don't share your code with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are kept until you're promoted to a tester or ask to be removed. Beta tester accounts are kept while your access is active. Bug reports are kept as long as they're useful for fixing things. You can ask us to delete any of this at any time — see below.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from announcements — every announcement email has a one-click unsubscribe link. This never affects login access or account email.
• Ask what we have, or ask us to delete it — email us (below) and we'll take care of it.

Cookies

The site sets exactly one cookie: a signed session cookie that keeps you logged in after entering your beta access code. It's strictly functional — there's nothing to opt into or out of, and no third-party tracking cookies are set.

Children's privacy

Ashkeeper isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
